I have just finished sewing the front blocks of Lewis's baby quilt together and quite chuffed with it, ok it's quirky unique and individual but made with love.

Bitten the bullet
I've started sewing the blocks for the baby quilt, am taking great care with the seam allowance however don't think my cutting is very accurate. Will definitely need more practice that's for sure.
Here's a few of the blocks

Quilt in planning
It's a miserable wet Sunday afternoon here in Shepperton, so what better way to spend it in my pj's drinking a cup of tea and laying out my cut prices if fabric in the floor to see what they look like before I start sewing and realise that it looks awful!
I am glad I did because I have change my
mind on a few of the sequences and still have some fabric to cut.
Here us what it looks like so far .......

First go
So I brought some more fabric (think I may have a bit of a problem buying pretty fabric and hoarding it). I met up with my good friend Christine in our local pub to discuss different block patterns and ideas of what I could have a go at as a beginner, Christine having already given quilt blocks ago (they are fab!).
Well time past while in the pub and unfortunately we digressed (as lovely ladies do) on to conversations about other things going on in life etc etc.
So the following evening I bit the bullet and drew out a very crude rough outline of of the sequence of my materials will form for horizontal and vertical blocks.
I started measuring and cutting out rectangles of different materials, had a few cursing moments where I didn't quite cut a strait line following the ruler.
However I am getting there.....
