Christmas puddings are finished just making the last pretty touches covers for the top. My clever mummy made some last year and I have copied how she made them. Adds that touch of Christmassy

Continuing with the Tash
Have picked up with my project for Rebecca's Christmas present, the fabric is tricky and driving me nuts! Ahhhhh
Well it's finished.
It's ok, not exactly how I expected it to turn out looked better in my head. I hope it's recipient likes it. Won't know until Christmas.

Christmas presents
Yes, unfortunately you read that correctly I am thinking about Christmas presents that I can sew. The first project is a moustache pillow for my partners niece. Omg there are do many different styles out there. So first point of call was to get the niece to draw half a moustache of her liking. I then cut this out and drew around it on a separate piece of card. I also cut this that shape out and stuck them together.
It starting to look like a moustache
So the next challenge is to cut out the fabric, this could be a big hurdle to get over. The fabric curls under as I was trying to pin it. Aaaahhhhh!

Spider make up bag
Made a 'spider' large make up bag for my little sister. Fabric- Halloween themed black with silver spiders and webs outside and soft red inside. Rather smart I think

There have been quite a few babies born recently so perhaps I could make something for them, little gifts for Christmas.

Weather
Its snowing again in Middlesex England. Not settling though just a sifting of icing sugar from above.
I want to be at home planning a new quilt or making lavender and rose bags to send to people. However instead I am prowling through some more sewing and quilting blogs and websites for inspiration. There are so many talented men and women out there. And my gosh the amazing quilts patterns are awe inspiring.
So Easter is coming up and wonder what little projects I could do........ any suggestions

Bitten the bullet
I've started sewing the blocks for the baby quilt, am taking great care with the seam allowance however don't think my cutting is very accurate. Will definitely need more practice that's for sure.

Quilt in planning
It's a miserable wet Sunday afternoon here in Shepperton, so what better way to spend it in my pj's drinking a cup of tea and laying out my cut prices if fabric in the floor to see what they look like before I start sewing and realise that it looks awful!
I am glad I did because I have change my
mind on a few of the sequences and still have some fabric to cut.
Here us what it looks like so far .......

First go
So I brought some more fabric (think I may have a bit of a problem buying pretty fabric and hoarding it). I met up with my good friend Christine in our local pub to discuss different block patterns and ideas of what I could have a go at as a beginner, Christine having already given quilt blocks ago (they are fab!).
Well time past while in the pub and unfortunately we digressed (as lovely ladies do) on to conversations about other things going on in life etc etc.
So the following evening I bit the bullet and drew out a very crude rough outline of of the sequence of my materials will form for horizontal and vertical blocks.
I started measuring and cutting out rectangles of different materials, had a few cursing moments where I didn't quite cut a strait line following the ruler.
However I am getting there.....

2013
Good evening readers
Not quite sure where most January has gone, I have been doing a lot if pondering as to my next project. Every where I look there is either Valentines or Easter themed items, neither if these greatly inspire me to create anything.
I have a burning desire to make a quilt and I have routed around a lot of great blogs of very talented ladies with their amazing wonderful stunning quilts and am very envious.
I think I will start small
However I fear that my fear of failure may stop me at the starting gate
